DNS

DNS (Domain Name System) is the indexing service used throughout the Internet. It translates the 'friendly' name (eg www.influentialcomputers.com) that you key in the address bar of your browser into an IP Address, which is in turn used to identify and reach the server computer that holds your requested Internet site.

DNS Servers themselves, like all Internet connected computers, have an IP Address. The details of our own DNS Servers are :-
